| Dear Valued Customer, Thank you for being a loyal customer of Molecular Devices. We are focused on continuously providing new innovative products with improved security, design, and functionality in support of your scientific research. After careful consideration, we have decided to cease manufacturing of our VersaMax™ Microplate Reader, which was launched over 20 years ago, to align with this strategy. This letter serves as an Advanced Notice of Discontinuation to help you plan accordingly. Important dates for support and purchase:Last day to purchase a VersaMax Microplate Reader is December 30, 2022. After this date, it will no longer be available for purchase.Last day to purchase a service plan for VersaMax Microplate Reader is December 31, 2027. All service plan coverage will end by December 31, 2028. After this date, all service and support will be on a reasonable effort basis. At this time, we are happy to help you upgrade to the SpectraMax® ABS or ABS Plus Microplate Readers which contain new features, extended dynamic range, and are compatible with our new SpectraTest® ABS2 Validation Plate. SpectraMax ABS and ABS Plus readers are compatible with SoftMax® Pro 7.1.2 Software which contain new features, offer improved security, and support current Windows operating systems. In addition, SoftMax Pro 7.1.2 GxP Software version addresses the updated guidance released by the FDA in 2016 regarding electronic signature and record-keeping requirements in 21 CFR Part 11.
